Dark Comedy at its Finest: Ring That Bell! at Edinburgh Fringe

Ding! Welcome to Hell! Ring That Bell! Lucy (Grace Baker) and Bubs (Eleanor Tate)
are two freshly fallen angels tasked with guarding the gates of Hell and directing
its newcomers to their assigned circles, such as: the ring of fire, the billionaire
ballpit, the circle jerk, and the cone of shame. Upon arrival, the audience will be
sorted into one of the nine circles and seated for orientation. The last several
orientations haven’t gone so well, but not to worry—the thirteenth time is the
charm. Lucy, with her cheery customer service attitude, will provide important
guidance to the latest orientation regarding vaccines, fire doors, and how to
gaslight yourself into enjoying your eternal stay. And Bubs, with her… attitude, will
checks notes not go on a seven hundred hour rant about the broken kettle in
the break room again. But as the presentation unfolds, rips, and gets crumpled
into a ball, Lucy and Bubs give way to mutual resentment regarding the events of
their fall and a fundamental disagreement about the nature of hell.

In fact, as hell’s various quirks fall away, it begins to feel all too familiar, and our fallen angels seem
rather like two people who have let their circumstances erode their relationship.
