The United Kingdom has many superb theatres both on a regional and national level. An area famous for its theatres, is the West End of London. It is located west to the City of London with a total of 38 theatres. There are many theatres here, including the Piccadilly Theatre, Savoy Theatre and the Lyceum.

It wasn’t always this way though as the Puritans closed all London theatres in 1642, a ban which lasted for 17 years.
