Recently delivering their production of Legally Blonde The Musical, I managed to see this production at the Crescent Theatre, Birmingham,
This was an amateur production starring Bethany Neame playing the lead character of Elle Woods
I had hoped to see this production when it was in its West End Run but didn’t quite manage to see it. I saw it advertised this time around so thought I must go see it.
The production overall was very good, good scenery and props. Sometimes though the mic levels for certain performers were not right and some dialogue could not be heard.
The story was brought alive by the fantastic ensemble, with the choreography done by Adele David being on top form.
Rebecca Eastwood playing Paulette gave a stellar performance, I forgot whilst I was watching her performance that. I was at an amateur production, she deserves to be in the West End!
Bethany gave an excellent performance of Elle, it was like this part had been made for her.
I loved the Greek Chorus too.
Jacob Standbridge playing Emmett Forrest was also fantastic.
The only character I was not so keen on was Professor Callahan played by Rob Pushkin. I felt the singing wasn’t quite there and I possibly would have given this part to Cieran Nixon.
Overall a very well put together show and certainly enjoyed it, well done on the production team and cast. It was a good humorous show and put together really well, it flowed and delivered the story very well.
