Yoga, Dohl Drumming and Ozzy, all part of Birmingham Festival.

The Birmingham festival 2023 is on currently https://www.birminghamfestival23.co.uk/ which is currently open to the 6th August 2023.

I saw a glimpse of it on Saturday, which started with Sampad taking over the show, with an initial Yoga session in Centenary square, then following this Eternal Taal an all female dhol drumming and dance group.  https://eternaltaal.com/

Sampad showcases South Asian Arts and more details can be found on their page https://www.sampad.org.uk/events/

Although I did not take part in Yoga, plenty of people did and it was actually relaxing watching the session. You never know, one day I may just take up the Yoga.

I was blown away by the performance from Eternal Taal who got the audience dancing and had vibrant energy, bursting on stage.

My highlight was the bhangra dancing, which was energetic and got the crowd engaged. The performance was fantastic and I love live performances. The performers were energized by the crowd who was giving much excitement back . They did also a little walk around on the main square with a guest appearance by Ozzy the bull, a firm crowd favourite from the Commonwealth Games.

The Birmingham festival is free and is being held a year from when the city held the Commonwealth Games. So take a look at their programme and get yourself to an event.
