A Taste of Ireland
Grace Hatchell here with something to set your heart leaping and your toes tapping – and no, it’s not another dance remix of Riverdance. It’s something new, bold, and bursting with Celtic pride.
Get ready to welcome Éireann – a fiery reimagining of Irish dance and storytelling – as it high-kicks its way into London’s Peacock Theatre from Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 August 2025. And believe me, it’s not just a dance show… it’s a thunderous, heartfelt journey through Irish history with the footwork to match.
Brought to us by the creators of A Taste of Ireland (yes, the ones who took stages by storm around the globe), Éireann is making its UK premiere, and it’s got everything Grace loves – drama, dazzling visuals, and more world champions than a Eurovision afterparty.
Think ancient Celtic legends, Viking raids, famine, rebellion and folklore – all told through intricate choreography, live vocals, and music that could bring a tear to a tin whistle. The whole thing’s performed live, with a soundtrack so stirring it practically dances out of the speakers and into your soul.
And the talent? Darling, it’s off the charts. The cast includes:
- Gavin Shevlin (Riverdance, Lord of the Dance, double World Champ – no big deal),
- Julia O’Rourke (New York’s own Irish dancing royalty – five-time World Champion),
- Alliyah O’Hare and Callum O’Neill (both from Birmingham, both World Champs – something in the water there),
- Plus dancers from Cork, Belfast, Australia, Canada, the US – it’s a global showcase of Celtic flair.
Backing them is a crack team of musicians including Megan McGinley on fiddle (yes, her fingers are as fast as the dancers’ feet) and Aaron O’Grady on guitar. And trust me, this isn’t background music – it’s a full-bodied, soul-stirring soundtrack that’ll whisk you straight from London to the cliffs of Donegal.
The show’s directed by Brent Pace (who you might remember from Off Broadway), with co-direction from Ceili Moore, a legend of the Irish dance scene herself. Together, they’ve built a spectacle that feels part theatre, part time machine, and all heart.
And here’s the kicker – tickets start from just £18, so even if your bank account is less West End and more west of broke, you can still catch the magic.
As Brent says himself, “Éireann is more than just a dance show — it’s a love letter to Ireland.” And Grace? Well, she loves a good letter – especially when it’s signed with a stomp, a story, and a fiddle solo to make your soul jig.
Catch Éireann at the Peacock Theatre from 28–31 August 2025. Tickets available now at Sadler’s Wells – and trust me, you’ll want to book early. Once word gets out, this one will fly faster than a reel at a ceilidh.
