Broadway International Group have announced that the upcoming London run of World’s Greatest Lover at The Other Palace will not go ahead as planned.
The production had been due to begin performances on 12 April 2026.
In a statement, the producers said they had made “the difficult decision to postpone” the run, adding that they remain proud of the work developed and are exploring future opportunities for the show.
Ticket holders are advised to contact their point of purchase for a full refund
Now then… I had that one tucked in the satchel, ready for delivery in a couple of weeks’ time, nice and neat, stamped and sorted… and then this lands instead.
Postponed.
It’s always a funny word in theatre, that. It sounds gentle, like something’s just been nudged slightly down the road… but anyone who’s spent enough time pedalling between venues knows it can mean anything from “we’ll see you soon” to “we’ll see you… maybe.”
What’s striking here is the timing. With performances due to begin on 12 April, this isn’t a distant reshuffle. This is right on the doorstep. Sets, schedules, hopes… all mid-journey, and then a pause button pressed.
There’s no drama in the statement, no big explanation, just that quiet line about being proud of what’s been developed and looking ahead to future opportunities.
For now, the doors at The Other Palace stay closed on this one, and audiences who were ready to meet the so-called “World’s Greatest Lover” will have to wait a little longer… or perhaps wonder if this particular love story is taking a different route entirely.
I’ll keep a space in the satchel for it, just in case it finds its way back.
