Well loves, fetch your fairy-dust and polish your apples, because the Alhambra Theatre is opening its doors to a panto spectacular this December – and guess what’s in my satchel? A first-class invite to join the magic of Snow White.
From 6th to 28th December, the Alhambra will be bursting at the seams with glitter, giggles and more “he’s behind you!” moments than you can shake a poisoned apple at.
And oh yes it is! Sheepie’s back – everyone’s favourite daftie Ian “Sheepie” Smith returns as Muddles, alongside the unstoppable Gary Morrison as Dame Nurse Nelly. Those two together are dafter than a postie trying to push a parcel through the wrong letterbox – and trust me, that’s very daft indeed. Expect comedy capers galore.
Louise Kempson will be working her wicked magic as the Evil Queen, with Kevin McLeod as her gleeful sidekick Igor – ready to have you hissing, booing and secretly loving every deliciously nasty minute. Megan Beth Pattie takes the crown as Snow White herself, with Scott Lindsay ready to sweep her off her feet as Prince Charming. Proper fairytale stuff, with a few pratfalls along the way.
The Alhambra panto isn’t just a show – it’s a whole delivery of joy wrapped up in sequins and slapstick. You’ll find magical sets, dazzling costumes, and more audience shouting than at my local sorting office on a Monday morning.
And if you’ve never been to an Alhambra Panto, here’s what to expect (other than me in the back row waving my satchel in the air):

So what are you waiting for? Gather your seven dwarfs (or however many relatives you can rope in), practise your “oh no he isn’t,” and prepare to boo, cheer, and clap till your mittens fall off.
Tickets are flying quicker than a panto dame’s costume change, so snap them up before the Wicked Queen gets her claws on them. Trust me, this Snow White is going to be the fairest festive treat of them all.
