Alphabetti Theatre is absolutely buzzing with excitement as they unveil their thrilling spring season, the first under dynamic new leadership! Ed Cole, the new Artistic & Executive Director, couldn’t be more thrilled to share this vibrant lineup since joining us last June. He extends heartfelt thanks to the incredible Alphabetti team for their warm welcome and unwavering professionalism during this exciting transition.
Kicking off with some familiar favourites alongside fresh ventures from the North East and beyond:

– **FLUFF** (March 14th – March 15th): An award-winning production that takes you on an emotional journey through dementia’s impact via a unique non-linear narrative.
– **GROUNDED** (May 22nd – May 24th): A moving exploration of grief through music and movement that offers hope and solidarity.
– **SH T LIFE CRISIS** (5th June – 7th June): Join Grace in her hilariously raw karaoke theatre show as she navigates life post-cancer victory—complete with live tunes!
Alphabetti remains committed to nurturing new talent with one-off performances and regular events while hosting Newcastle Fringe Festival, Northern Pride, Tête-à-Tête Opera Festival, and Classics Fest.
In response to financial challenges in the arts sector, they are adapting our programming strategy without compromising on creativity or quality. Ed assures us that any gaps in scheduling will soon be filled once funding bids are confirmed—stay tuned for announcements!
Thanks to generous support from Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and Arts Council England among others; they are embarking on an exciting organisational development journey including external consultation from Ned Glasier of Company Three plus staff training initiatives.
Their revamped bar awaits you too—with tasty snacks enhancing Alphabetti’s welcoming vibe! As Ed puts it: “Choosing a night out at Alphabetti is always going be spot-on.” We can’t wait for you join us soon!
Massive thank-you goes out all funders who’ve helped Alphabetti during this pivotal time: Backstage Trust; Arts Council England; Esmée Fairbairn Foundation; Garfield Weston Foundation; NCIF; Barbour Foundation; Sir James Knott Trust & Fagus Anstruther Memorial Trust—you rock!
