Grace’s Satchel Special Delivery: MISCAST – Musical Theatre but not as we know it!
Well my loves, I’ve just had a letter drop through my satchel that has me twirling round the post room — and no, it’s not another bill for my moped repairs! It’s far more exciting. Word on the cobblestones is that Whitley Bay Playhouse is about to be taken over for one night only by some of the brightest stars of the stage, all for a cracking good cause.
That’s right — on Monday 13th October, we’ve got Miscast: Musical Theatre (but not as we know it!). And oh boy, is this going to be epic. Forget what you know about traditional casting. This gala flips the script, with international musical theatre stars performing the songs and roles they’d never normally get to play. Just imagine a fierce Phantom, a sassy Jean Valjean, or a Fantine belting out the wrong side of the barricade. Delicious chaos!
And who’s on the delivery list? Only the dazzling:
Manon Taris
Adam Strong
Stefanie Jones
Michael D Xavier
Wendy Ferguson
Nathan Elwick
Sally Forster
Kris Manuel
Lyndsey Gardiner
Sarah Marie Maxwell
(Grace is fanning herself already – that’s a starry line-up worthy of a Broadway postmark!)
Not only that, but the Northern School of Musical Theatre will be showcasing their talented students, giving us a sneak peek at the future leading lights of the West End.
Now, here’s the important bit: this gala isn’t about glitzy paydays or big ticket profits. It’s a charity fundraiser, with proceeds supporting brilliant causes. That means your support is absolutely vital — because unlike some shows, ticket sales aren’t the priority, raising awareness and funds is. So please, share the word like I share my gossip: freely and loudly!
A quick note from my satchel of common sense: U14s must be accompanied by an adult.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your ticket, tell your mates, bring the neighbours, even drag your nan along if she fancies a night of musical mischief. This is going to be a one-night-only event that’ll have us all buzzing from overture to encore.
I’ll see you there, satchel in hand — and I promise not to sing along too loudly… unless it’s Les Mis, in which case all bets are off.
Book now for Miscast at Whitley Bay Playhouse, Monday 13th October – and be part of a night that rewrites the rules of musical theatre.
