Mon Sans Productions, an Australian theatre company, is set to return to London with a compelling new play that sheds light on the often-overlooked issue of homelessness. “STREET” follows the lives of Foster and Miriam, two homeless youths accustomed to being ignored and invisible. Their routine existence is disrupted when Fay and Christian, newcomers to the harsh realities of street life, encroach upon their space. This powerful production offers a stark commentary on homelessness and social responsibility.
The UK premiere of “STREET” will take place on 3rd June 2025 at Barons Court Theatre. Notably, 10% of the box office proceeds will be donated to Barons Court Project, a charity supporting homeless individuals. According to Stage Whispers in 2019, writer and director Liviu Monsted presents a vivid portrayal of young people living on the streets in “STREET.” The play does not delve into how or why these individuals became homeless nor does it offer solutions; instead, it aims to heighten awareness and encourage audiences to pay closer attention to those experiencing homelessness.

Following his success with “The Various Methods of Escape” at Bread and Roses in 2024, Liviu Monsted expressed his eagerness to return to London after recognising similarities between London’s homelessness issues and those in Sydney. Michael Angus from Barons Court Project expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Mon Sans Productions on this project. He highlighted that as rough sleeping continues to rise, this play provides an invaluable opportunity for reflection through theatre.
The cast includes Maisie Tiedeman, Bill Gurney, Hadrian Conyngham, Serena Lehman, and Mitch Howell. Tickets are available for purchase under Street by Liviu Monsted at Barons Court Theatre’s website.
