Becks is done with bad dates. She’s ready to find “the one.” When she meets her dream man online, it feels like fate is finally on her side. But there’s just one tiny hiccup—his criminal conviction.
How bad can it really be?
That’s the deliciously dark question at the centre of Not in the Mood for Quiche Anymore, a witty tragicomedy that peels back the glossy veneer of online dating and dives into the murkier waters beneath. After a first date that leaves Becks head over heels, she’s reeled further and further in—yet the closer she gets, the bigger the question mark grows over who this man really is.
Fresh from a well-received preview run at Barons Court Theatre, this slick one-woman show transfers to the Lion & Unicorn Theatre for a week-long run, with audiences promised a cocktail of humour, suspense, and uncomfortable truths about the risks of love in the digital age.

About the Writer
Playwright and filmmaker Victoria Buse is no stranger to exploring sharp, character-driven storytelling. Based in Oxfordshire, her debut play was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Playwriting and her short plays have picked up multiple awards, including Take Ten at Chesil Theatre and Enter Stage Write. Her work has been staged at venues including Theatre503, the Arcola Theatre, and the Clapham Fringe at the Bread & Roses Theatre.
Buse’s one-woman tragicomedy has already proven itself with glowing four-star reviews, and she’s equally recognised in film: winner of Soho House’s Scripted Hot Seat competition, with her short films screening at festivals worldwide and nominations including Best First Time Filmmaker and Best Director.
Not in the Mood for Quiche Anymore serves up a bite of comedy with a darker aftertaste. It asks: how far would you go for love, and what risks are worth taking when the heart’s at stake?
