Theatre Village began as a rumour whispered in the wings — a place where the greasepaint never fades, the interval wine never runs out, and everyone knows the stage manager’s name. Legend has it our first “office” was the corner seat of Row C, where Grace Hatchell started jotting down notes in the margins of her programmes and accidentally invented a newspaper. Over the years, the Village grew — not because we had money (we didn’t) or a marketing team (we definitely didn’t), but because word travels fast when you’ve got a postie who delivers gossip faster than first-night nerves. Today, Theatre Village is still run on the same principle it started with: no ads, no paywalls, just pure, unfiltered theatre chatter — straight from the stage door to your front door.
