Right then, goggles on and eyebrows at the ready — Brainiac Live! is packing its lab coat and exploding into Birmingham Town Hall this Christmas, and yes… Grace has already checked the small print to make sure no one’s allowed to recreate this in the living room.
Fresh from scooping the 2025 Olivier Award for Best Family Show (not bad for a bunch of people who deliberately set things on fire for a living), this mischievous science spectacular lands in Birmingham from 27–30 December 2025, bringing four days of controlled chaos, jaw-dropping experiments and proper “how did they get away with that?” moments.
Based on the much-loved TV show owned by ITV Studios, Brainiac Live! throws audiences headfirst into the weird, wonderful and occasionally slightly alarming world of science. From fizzing reactions to daredevil demonstrations, the Brainiacs do all the things you’re far too sensible — and legally discouraged — to attempt at home. You just sit back. Preferably not in the splash zone.
Since first debuting onto stages in 2008, the show has played to packed houses across the UK, toured internationally (yes, even Dubai and Australia have survived), and entertained hundreds of thousands of curious kids and their grown-ups along the way.
Producer Dan Colman says winning the Olivier was a huge moment — and bringing the show to Birmingham this Christmas is the icing on the (possibly radioactive) cake. He promises unforgettable reactions from young audience members, while firmly reminding everyone: don’t try this at home. Sensible advice, that.
ITV Studios’ Lou Black also praises the long-standing partnership behind the show, calling the Birmingham run another exciting milestone and a well-earned celebration of the team’s creativity and quality.
Suitable for ages 5+ but genuinely brilliant for the whole family, Brainiac Live! is shaping up to be one of those Christmas treats where learning sneaks in through the back door
