Susan had it all – a life wrapped in love, laughter, and happiness. But everything shattered when an unexpected loss pulled the rug from under her perfect world. Left broken and drowning in grief, she couldn’t see any path forward… until one day, during an ordinary trip to the grocery store, she heard something extraordinary: a Voice.
Susan doesn’t believe in voices. Or miracles. And certainly not in walking pilgrimages. But this Voice told her to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain – a 540-mile trek through rain-soaked landscapes and soul-testing silence. With nothing but a backpack and a heart full of pain, she sets off into the unknown, guided by unexpected spiritual encounters and the quiet wisdom of the Camino itself.
Now, in her Edinburgh Fringe debut, Susan Edsall brings this powerful journey to life in Buen Camino, performing 23 distinct characters as she relives her pilgrimage across northern Spain. What begins as a lonely trudge through bitterness and rain becomes a deeply human story of how grief, when surrendered to, can ultimately set you free.
