It’s official – the winner of Theatre Village’s May Madness competition has been chosen, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to shine a spotlight on the irrepressible, unstoppable, and gloriously unfiltered Liz Coin, bringing her hit one-woman show Lizzy Sunshine to the Edinburgh Fringe for the very first time!
From a pool of brilliant contenders, Lizzy Sunshine lit up our inboxes with its bold premise, big heart, and even bigger personality. Liz Coin – a NYC-based comedian and solo performer – is no stranger to the hustle. She’s self-producing her Fringe run without a team, funding, or fancy connections. Just one woman, one suitcase of props, and a story that needs to be told.
And what a story it is.
Lizzy Sunshine is a chaotic, heartfelt solo comedy about resilience, addiction, and staying (delusionally?) positive. It’s messy. It’s joyful. It’s nuts. And it’s real. Sold out across the US, including runs in LA and Chicago, and with three upcoming dates at NYC’s SoHo Playhouse, Lizzy is about to make waves on this side of the Atlantic.
As our May Madness winner, Lizzy Sunshine will feature as our banner show on the Theatre Village homepage for the next three months, and will also appear in our Fringe Spotlight sidebar widget, giving Liz the stage she so clearly deserves.
We can’t wait to see what UK audiences make of this wonderfully wild ride of a show. One thing’s for sure: Fringe 2025 just got a whole lot sunnier.
☀️ Congratulations, Liz! Let the sunshine in…
