Well duckies, if you thought Yorkshire folk were content with flat caps and a brew, think again. There’s a mission underway — and it’s headed way past Leeds. Say hello to Pat Rascal: Space Gravy, the sketch show that’s boldly going where no gravy boat has gone before: to Mars. Yes, seriously. Not just Mars though, its heading to Edinburgh Fringe
Now I’ve delivered some odd parcels in my time (one to a panto cow wearing crocs), but even I wasn’t prepared for the high-energy, off-the-wall chaos that Pat Rascal has cooked up. This isn’t just sketch comedy. It’s sketch, lip-sync, clowning, five minutes in Spanish, and a salute to God’s own country — all wrapped up in a duct-taped rocket and crash-landing at Underbelly Cowgate for Edinburgh Fringe
Behind the wigs and wonderfully strange props (some of which I’m sure I saw last week in the lost property at Wetherspoons), lies something heartfelt: a tribute to Yorkshire, pride, and what it means to belong somewhere — especially when the world is more than a bit bonkers. And let’s face it, Fringe-goers, we all need a reminder that being proud of where you’re from doesn’t have to come with a flag and a frown.
The comedy trio — Anisa Khorassani (she/her), Matty Blin (they/them), and Rob Davidson (he/him) — are absurd, sharp, and utterly fearless. Two-thirds of them hail from Yorkshire, and the other third is just trying to keep up (we’ve all been there).
And let me tell you — this lot don’t just deliver comedy, they catapult it. If you’re after something gloriously daft but sneakily moving, pop it in your diary:

So go on — grab a pie, tighten your space helmet, and get ready for liftoff. This Fringe, Yorkshire’s heading to Mars. And I, for one, am sending it first class.
