Sometimes its a rarity to see a show with so many magical moments that you don’t want the show to end. This is one of those shows.

It had been a show I had wanted to see for a while and when I saw it was on tour at Birmingham Alexandra Theatre, I had to get tickets for it.

Heathers The Musical is based at Westerberg High, where popularity is so very a matter of life and death, and Veronica Sawyer is just another of the nobodies dreaming of a better day. But when she’s unexpectedly taken under the wings of the three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers, her dreams of popularity finally start to come true. Until JD turns up, the mysterious teen rebel who teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it’s murder being a somebody.

Starting with the story/plot this was woven into the production well and was fairly easy to follow what was happening. The scenery seamlessly transitioned into the various settings and the lighting worked tremendously well, without it being overbearing.

These provided the show with the perfect setting needed for the cast to deliver their exceptional performances. First impressions were great and this continued throughout the show.

One of the main parts was played by Eliza Bowden- Heather Mcnamara who provided deliver her part with so much ummph and pizzazz it was a joy to watch. Summer Priest played Heather Duke who gave an exceptional performance.

The whole cast was memorizing from start to finish and normally I would give special shout out’s to the individuals, but absolutely everyone was excellent.

The only character I disliked was Ms Fleming. There was absolute a perfect harmony between Kingsley Morton ( Martha Dunnstock) and Jenna Innes ( Veronica Sawyer) and could have watched these two in concert all day.

This show had high production values and they delivered the show flawlessly, there was humour, emotional moments and stand out performances.  This show is on tour so get a ticket whilst you can, do not be under any illusions, this show is a must see!
