This Edinburgh Fringe, Theatre Village is putting its full weight (and satchel) behind something that matters. We’re championing women performers — not just the ones making us laugh ‘til we cry, but the ones using their voices to challenge, provoke, and change the story.
In a world that still underestimates, underpays, and undermines women — we’re saying: enough.
This year, we’re spotlighting the fighters.
The survivors.
The carers, the truth-tellers, the kitchen-table philosophers.
The daughters, mothers, sisters, aunties, and grandparents who stand on stage and dare to say something real — with humour, heartbreak, and hellfire in equal measure.
Make no mistake — the shows might come dressed in sequins, satire or a sax solo, but beneath the glitter is grit.
We’re talking about the messy stuff. The painful stuff. The misunderstood stuff.
And frankly, we’re done with polite silence.
So whether it’s feminist drag, political stand-up, or a raw monologue about things society still calls “too much” — we’ll be there. Cheering, clapping, and scribbling notes like it’s the front row of a revolution.
Because this Fringe?
It’s not just entertainment.
It’s a reckoning.
And the women are taking the mic.
