By Grace Hatchell, currently zipped into a tent somewhere in Manchester, wondering if this counts as “overnight delivery”
Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard brings An Audience with Danny Beard to Manchester’s Albert Hall on 18 September 2026, performing Broadway and West End classics with the English Musical Theatre Orchestra.
Hey Loves, Danny Beard is heading to the Albert Hall, Manchester on Friday 18 September 2026 — and before anyone gets carried away, I mean the Manchester one, not the posh round one in London — for An Audience with Danny Beard, with tickets already on general sale.
Now I’ll be honest with you… when I set off with me satchel, I didn’t quite plan for this.
A quiet ride, I thought. Drop a few letters off. Maybe a brew somewhere along the way.
Next thing I know, I’ve cycled to Manchester, pitched a tent, and I’m reading about a one-night-only show that feels like it might be worth the whole journey.
Because Danny Beard is heading to the Albert Hall, Manchester on Friday 18 September 2026 for An Audience with Danny Beard — and tickets are already on general sale.
Now if that name rings a bell, it should.
Winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, finalist on Celebrity Big Brother, Britain’s Got Talent, BBC Radio 1, Hollyoaks, even sharing a stage with Graham Norton at the O2… Danny Beard isn’t exactly easing quietly into a room.
And this night? It sounds like it’s got a bit of everything.
They’re teaming up with the English Musical Theatre Orchestra — that’s a full 25-piece orchestra, mind — for a one-night celebration of Broadway and West End classics.
We’re talking songs from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Little Mermaid, Rent and more… the sort of programme where one minute you’re laughing, the next you’re belting something out you didn’t even realise you knew.
And I’ll tell you what I like about this…
It’s not trying to be one thing.
It’s big vocals, yes. Proper powerhouse stuff. But it’s also wit, warmth, a bit of chaos, a bit of heart — the kind of night where you don’t just sit politely and clap, you feel it.
Danny even says it themselves — big laughs and even bigger show tunes, with something for everyone, even if you’re more of a “pop girly” than a theatre regular.
Which, between you and me… is exactly how you bring new people into theatre.
On stage, Danny’s built a reputation for that blend — their show Straight Expectations packed out venues across the UK and picked up multiple five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe.
So scaling that up with a full orchestra behind them?
That’s not just a gig. That’s a moment.
Tickets start from £32.50 for standing in the stalls and £35 for seated in the circle, and you can already book through the Albert Hall Manchester website.
The show is produced by EMTO Productions Ltd. in association with Posterity Ltd. and John Noel Management, and sponsored by Jones & Co. Ltd. — so it’s got a solid team behind it too.
And I’ll be honest…
If a show can get me cycling across the country and sleeping in a tent just to talk about it…
…it’s probably worth at least a look.
Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to unzip this tent, stretch me legs, and see if I can find a café before deciding whether I’m staying the night…
…or just pretending this was all part of the delivery route.
Tickets start from £32.50 (Stalls – Standing) and £35.00 (Circle – Seated) and are available now at alberthallmanchester.co.uk.
