Taiwanese American stand up comedian Titi Lee is set to make their Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut this August with brand new show Good Girl Gone Baddie. This powerhouse of storytelling through solid jokes and witty observations will bring their hour-long set to Just the Tonic at Cabaret Voltaire for the entire run of the festival. As a non-binary bisexual first gen Taiwanese American, Lee has written a heartfelt humorous show exploring their gradual decline from goody-two-shoes and apple of their parents eye, to…well… quite the opposite.
Good Girl Gone Baddie is an endearing take on trading in a desperate need to be good, for the freedom of being yourself.
Lee is a comedian and Emmy-award nominated children’s TV writer. Their knack of turning trauma into comedy gold helped get them into the Forbes Under 30 club with a profile focusing on their considerable body of work by the age of 29.
Their stand up clips have garnered millions of views online and they have performed at comedy festivals across the USA. TV credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm, A Little Late with Lily and the current seasons of hit Peacock show Girls5Eva, currently screening on Netflix in the UK.
While studying at NYU, Lee interned for Jimmy Fallon, to learn about TV writing, an experience that informed their razor sharp delivery on stage and provided a solid foundation to build their show upon. Later, they participated in NBC’s Page Program working on SNL, again finessing their disarming communication skills, helping the create a show full of homour and likability, while also addressing some of the more traumatic events in their life; including the death of their younger brother. The result of all this labour? A feel-good show to start your day.
